It’s hard to fathom how excessive regulations and government overreach is stifling a community built around skill, tradition, and craftsmanship. 
This wasn’t just a show — it was a celebration of artistry and heritage. Watching it get shut down like this is beyond frustrating.

I am hopeful, we can find another venue for next year and that common sense will prevail.

Tale as old as time. Well, not really. Habaki firs Tale as old as time. Well, not really. Habaki first appeared on Katanas in 8th century, their purpose being to secure the katana inside a saya.🥷

I borrowed the idea and adopted it to for use in the kitchen. Idea being that Habaki is snug fit to saya cheeks while the blade is floating inside a saya and is not getting scratched. 

What do you think? 

Ps. I am clearly not a videographer.

Throwback to 2014. I’d been making knives for th Throwback to 2014. I’d been making knives for three years, and this was a turning point—a moment when I finally felt like my hands were working with me, not against me, and I could bring my ideas to life. 

Those three years tested a lot, especially my marriage, as I spent nearly every free moment in the workshop when I wasn’t at my day job. Making knives was basically an addiction. Still is if I let it. 

This knife was a special piece, gifted to a dear friend in Ukraine—but not before the incredibly talented @swollenfinger captured it in an amazing sketch for me.
